National Margarita Day…

National Margarita Day… Feb 22nd.

Free Margaritas all week!

 

There’s not many ‘Americanisms’ we like to adopt Amigos, but the idea of a National Day to celebrate the Margarita is just too good to pass up!

To get into the spirit we’ll be giving a bunch of them away…

 

Here’s how we’ll do it…

Dine in any night this week, up to and including Friday 24th, and when Jimmy Buffets famous song ‘Margaritaville’ plays through the speakers, there’s a  free House Margarita for all diners that join in the chorus line…

but I know, it’s my own damn fault!”

 

(we can make them alcohol free for designated drivers!)

 

The song’s programmed to play randomly twice during the evening. Sometimes three times depending on how long we stay open,

so there’s an excellent chance of a free drink or two AmiGos!

We were  impressed with James’ efforts a couple of weeks ago, then along came Hugh! Now he’s the Chile Champion, & dines for free until defeated. Come up & have a go, a little pain for a lot of AmiGos!!!

Chile? Chilli?? Chillie???

A question that’s plagued menu writers everywhere I’m sure, & particularly here at AmiGos! After a fair whack of extensive research (ie sipping a Margarita while googling like crazy), we’ve adopted the following…

  • If we’re talking about the the actual plant, or it’s fruit, then it’s chile.
  •  
  • If we’re talking about a recipe that uses chile as a major component, the dish is referred to as a chili.
  •  
  • Finally, if we’re talking about more than one chile, or chili… then it’s chillies!!

Nek Minnit… There’s so many things we could say about this picture… & a lot were said  in a facebook ‘best caption’ competition we ran. I’m not going to tell you what the winning one was… go and have a look AmiGos!
